At the end of each growing season, our CSA farm invites its members to visit and pick-up the final vegetables of the season. The farm, Round River Farm, is located in Finland, MN and each fall I look forward to seeing the farm and our farmers. This was our fourth season as members of their CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), where each week for the summer/fall season we receive a cooler full of fresh vegetables.
Every year I am amazed at what they are able to grown in this rocky soil. I know that they have put in years of hard work, which makes me all the more thankful for the vegetables we get each season! This year I grew more of a garden at home, but the reliability of having a cooler of veggies each week can’t be beat.
And since we don’t have a pumpkin farm in our area, we look forward to picking out our pumpkin each year, too.
It was a fun afternoon and now I’m already looking forward to the next CSA season. If you are interested in joining a CSA, you can search for one by your zip code here. And if you live in Lake or Cook Counties in MN, Round River Farm has more information about their CSA here.
